Position title
Linux System Administrator (m/f/d)
Description

You don’t just administer – you optimize. The second you perform a repetitive task for the second time, you’re already thinking about how to automate it. Bash or Python – the goal is simple: solve it once, never touch it again.

At LANG AG, you’ll manage a well-established, hybrid infrastructure while taking specific responsibility for the Linux environment with its diverse services and systems. You’ll be a point of contact for your colleagues, but your real motivation is solving problems in a way that prevents them from happening again. Teamwork is important to you: knowledge that isn’t shared is only half as valuable.

Qualifications
  • You have completed IT training or gained comparable practical experience – what matters is what you can do, not what’s written on your certificate.
  • Linux is your primary working environment – you’re just as comfortable on the command line as you are in your editor of choice.
  • You operate and maintain Linux servers in production – Debian, Ubuntu or comparable distributions are part of your daily work.
  • You write scripts in Bash or Python – not because you have to, but because it’s the cleaner solution.
  • You use container technologies such as Docker and Docker Compose confidently; knowledge of Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms is a plus.
  • You understand networks (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS) not just in theory.
  • You consider IT security from the very beginning – system hardening, firewall rules, patch management and access control are part of your daily work, not someone else’s responsibility.
  • Automation is not a buzzword to you – whether Ansible, shell scripts or CI/CD pipelines, you know when the effort is worth it.
  • Good English skills for working in an international environment (documentation, vendor support).
Job Benefits
  • Permanent employment contract in a medium-sized company with real technical depth.
  • Flexible working hours without micromanagement.
  • Further training opportunities at the LANG ACADEMY.
  • The opportunity to actively contribute to AI and automation projects across the company.
  • An IT department that builds solutions – not just closes tickets.
  • Team events, an in-house fitness studio, company bikes, EV charging stations and company daycare.
